🐟 Sea Salt opens April 19

No matter what a calendar says, it's common knowledge that the official first day of spring is the day Sea Salt opens.

And this year that date is — you heard it here first folks! — Friday, April 19. 

What's that? You want more scoops? How about this: The iconic Minnehaha Falls eatery is also opening a brand new sandwich shop, The Sandwich Room at Sea Salt, in the pavilion next door.

The shop will give additional choices to Sea Salt diners plus a quick grab-and-go option for people passing through the park. (And put a dent in Longfellow's status as — no offense to Subway — something of a sandwich shop desert). The menu is the brainchild of longtime Sea Salt manager and now co-owner Bill Blood, a sandwich zealot who's known to some as Sandwich Bill. It'll feature a handful of standby cold sandwiches plus rotating features.
