🍔 "Francis" vegan burger joint is coming to the old Peppers and Fries building
The burger joint, which is expanding from its original location in Northeast, caters to vegans and meat-eaters alike.
No animals were harmed in the making of this scoop: Francis Burger Joint, a casual vegan restaurant in Northeast, has purchased the Peppers and Fries building at 39th and Lake Street and will open a second location there as early as next month.
Background
The main thing to know about Francis is that it's not for vegans only. It's not even for vegans mostly. It couldn’t be — there just aren’t enough of them. So while part of its mission is to extend the fundamental pleasure of eating a burger and fries in a comfortable neighborhood bar to people who don’t eat animal products, in order to stay alive the restaurant also has to win over the hearts and mouths of meat eaters who have plenty of other options.
