🦐 First look: Lagniappe

Lagniappe, the long-awaited New Orleans-style restaurant at 27th and Lake, opens tonight inside the historic Coliseum building on 27th and Lake.

It joins its more casual counterpart, Du Nord Cocktail Room, as the anchors of the recently restored building and the first public-facing businesses to return to life on the intersection since it was decimated in 2020. And while the two restaurants share a kitchen and a cuisine, Lagniappe presents a sufficiently different variation on the theme to warrant its own brand. (Much of the backstory was covered here when the cocktail room opened last month; that story is included below if you want a refresher.)
